Catman and the Stanley Cup...

"Sunday 6pm, the Toronto Maple Leafs have won it!!" was called over the stereo at Maple Leaf Gardens, just as the Leafs scored the final goal in the Stanley Cup semi-finals.

It was that radio announcement that inspired the criminal mind of the evil Joker. Joker was known as the Clown Prince of Crime. The reason for his strange name was his even stranger appearance.

So it was two days later that the sinister Joker stole the Stanley Cup from Montréal.

Now I come into the story. In real life, my name is Shadow, mild-mannered cat to Nick Gustafson. But secretly I'm Catman, the Feline Crusader, defender of cats everywhere.

I started on the case when I heard about it on a Toronto radio station. So I snuck out and used my ability to fly to get to Montréal.

While in Montréal, I searched the Montréal Forum top to bottom for any clue to his whereabouts. I found nothing.

Since I found nothing at the Forum, I started combing the streets of Montréal.

I met up with a lonely French cat on Sherbrooke Street.

"Have you seen this human?" I asked him.

My informant answered me in a pale tone, "I see not'ing monsieur. Au revoir!"

Several others I tried, it was just the same.

Going back to Oakville, too tired to fly, I travelled on a VIA train. In my compartment, I had a very unusual roommate. He said that he had been the accomplice of Joker when he had stolen the Stanley Cup.

It was then that I knew I had my lead in the case.

The accomplice was a large built dog with a ghastly white complexion.

He told me how I could find Joker and that he was presently in Toronto.

Meanwhile in Toronto, Joker had been hiding in the most obvious place-- Maple Leaf Gardens! And now thanks to Joker's accomplice, I knew just where to find him.

When I first saw Joker , he was even more grotesque than I had pictured him. His face was chalk white, his lips were ruby red and his hair was emerald green. Joker was a gross clown.

I approached Joker cautiously, but somehow he saw me!

But unknown to Joker , I still had an ace up my paw. Today before I came to the Gardens, I made sure I wasn't coming alone.

Coming behind me were the Toronto Maple Leafs. With the help of the Leafs, I managed to bring Joker to justice and retrieve the Stanley Cup.

Next Sunday, the Leafs were in the Stanley Cup finals against the Montréal Canadiens. And I, Catman, the Feline Crusader, threw the first puck.
